Chaos ensued after Michigan football‘s 13-10 victory over Ohio State in The Game on Saturday.

After the final whistle, as they did in 2022, the Wolverines aimed to plant their flag at midfield. However, the Buckeyes opted to hit harder than they did all game and cause a melee, which led to the macing of several Wolverine players following police intervention.

Star edge defender Josaiah Stewart shared on Twitter/X that he was not only maced by police but had a beer thrown at him and was physically struck by an Ohio State fan.

I mean, what happened to losing with grace? Of course, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was quick to tell FOX’s Jenny Taft at halftime that his team needs to “play with emotion.”

And, well, there you have it: An emotionally charged message to his team ended in a disappointing result, leading to an ultra-emotional response.

My only question is: What happens next?

Surely, this will be investigated at a high level. After all, when the Wolverines planted their flag in 2022, nobody had enough issue with it to cause a Super Smash Bros reenactment at the 50-yard line.

After four wins in a row, Jack Sawyer (winless vs. Michigan) had enough and went as far as ripping the U-M flag in half – yes, after losing – and yet the Wolverines were the only team to be maced.

I wonder if those Ohio State Police offers had any bias. Dare I say they might be Buckeyes themselves.

Anway, this would never happen in Ann Arbor. They lost with dignity for a decade-plus, but the tide has shifted. We are the captains now.

Perhaps Buckeye Nation could take some advice from Kalel Mullings:
