Michigan football is on fire on the recruiting trail and with the commitment of Jasper Parker, that’s three in one week.

Michigan football fans didn’t have to wait long for the next commitment in the 2025 class as three-star running back Jasper Parker committed on Saturday to the Wolverines.

We have been trying to figure out how things would shake out with running back recruiting but after his official visit, which is happening this weekend, Parker, who is ranked No. 440 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, committed to Michigan football, telling Hayes Fawcett of On3.com:

“Michigan is a special place and I want to be a Michigan Man. GO BLUE”

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound back has been a target of the Wolverines for a while but has been a little under the radar despite the official visit this weekend.

There are some other options still on the board and I would expect Michigan football to take at least two running backs, but getting Parker in the fold is another solid move for the 2025 class.

Thoughts on Jasper Parker commitment

Miami, Alabama, North Carolina, and Oklahoma State were some of the other contenders for the running back out of Louisiana. Parker is the third commitment of the week for the Wolverines. He’s also the eighth in the 2024 class, although he’s the only three-star recruit committed in the class right now.

That will change and Parker isn’t that far from becoming a four-star in his own right. The back reminds me a little of Donovan Edwards. He puts his foot in the ground and goes. I’m not sure what the 100-meter dash time is, but Parker looks explosive on tape.

He should be a great fit with the Wolverines and like I said, I wouldn’t be shocked if we are counting Parker among Michigan football’s blue-chip commitments come December.

Beyond that, the Wolverines continue to build momentum on the recruiting trail and all of a sudden, it feels like U-M will have double-digit commitments before we know it.
