Simpson is the second wideout to pledge to the Wolverines along with Donoven McCulley (Indiana). Simpson spent two seasons with Arizona as well. He made the move to Michigan with a career total of nearly 1,500 yards, including 342 return yards from his time as a Wildcat.

Michigan defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach Lamar Morgan coached Anderson as Louisiana’s defensive coordinator and secondary coach in 2022 and 2023. Anderson dealt with injuries this season, but he still tallied 19 tackles. In his career, Anderson has accumulated 59 tackles, six pass breakups and two interceptions, including one returned 54 yards for a touchdown.

Here is a full list of Michigan’s additions in the transfer portal: Simpson, Anderson, McCulley, long snapper Trent Middleton (UCLA), quarterback Mikey Keene (Fresno State), running back Justice Haynes (Alabama), linebacker Troy Bowles (Georgia), Lawrence Hattar (Ferris State), offensive lineman Brady Norton (Cal Poly), defensive back and brother duo TJ and Tevin Matcalf, defensive lineman Tre Williams (Clemson) and defensive tackle Damon Payne Jr. (Alabama).
