Michigan men’s basketball came in at No. 14 in Saturday’s revealing of the top 16 seeds in the NCAA tournament. The Wolverines are in first place in the Big Ten at 11-2 (19-5 overall), though two members of the conference were ranked higher: Purdue (No. 7) and Wisconsin (No. 11).

The official bracket won’t be released until Selection Sunday on March 16. The tournament begins on March 18 with the first-four going at it in Dayton, Ohio.

The top seed was unanimously given to Auburn, with Alabama coming in at No. 2 and Duke at No. 3.

The Wolverines were placed into the west region and given the fourth seed. Florida (4) was placed at the top of the west, followed by Houston (8) and Kentucky (10).

Michigan has a clear path to improving its seed as it still has matchups with Ohio State, Michigan State (twice), and Maryland, all of which are ranked in the top 30 of current NET rankings.
