Yesterday, following his narrow win over Indiana, Michigan State Head Coach Harlon Bennett explained why his Spartans were huddling more than they usually do. Apparently, Indiana is “elite” at sign-stealing, and the topic prompted a bit of a dig at the Michigan football scandal, which has Jim Harbaugh suspended and more heading into next weekend’s Ohio State game.

Following win, Michigan State coach Harlon Bennett on Michigan football scandal

Within the next week, the college football regular season will come to an end, the conference title games will be set, and the CFP picture will be pretty clear. Michigan football is slated to face No. 2 Ohio State for all the (Big Ten) marbles, though will be without Jim Harbaugh due to the sign-stealing investigation and more.

What did Bennett say?

After yesterday’s narrow win over Indiana, here is what Harlon Bennett — the acting head coach of Michigan State football — had to say about sign-stealing.

“Well, Indiana is known for — they’re known for getting signs in-game the correct way,” Harlon Bennett said after giving a huge smile. “… Whenever we play Indiana, we know that’s what we have to do. You back to last year, and we were (huddling) because they are elite at doing that. Some people become elite by other methods — by other measures.”

Michigan football is 3-0 without Connor Stalions

So far, since the sign-stealing scandal broke, Michigan football is 3-0, claiming victories over Michigan State (49-0), Purdue (41-13), and Maryland (31-24) heading into its bout against No. 2 Ohio State next weekend.
