Ohio State can’t beat Michigan football, but they added to their offseason championship by landing Baby Gronk’s commitment Friday.

Ohio State hasn’t enjoyed many wins in recent years. Well, at least not any wins against Michigan football, a program the Buckeyes haven’t beaten since 2019.

The Buckeyes will tell you it was just “one bad half” or that Michigan football “cheated” so there should be an asterisk next to the Wolverines three-game winning streak.

Michigan won those games by an average of 14 points by the way. Ohio State hasn’t held a single lead in the past three years and hasn’t even been tied going into the fourth quarter.

So as much as Gene Smith and others want to cry, it was settled on the field fair and square. Of course, Ohio State knows this which is why they are spending after penny they have to acquire talent via NIL.

Buckeye fans have been touting their “offseason championship” because recruiting wins are apparently the only victories Ohio State can achieve, at least over Michigan football.

Baby Gronk gives Ohio State another offseason win

Maybe that will change in 2024. Maybe it won’t, but the Buckeyes added to their offseason championship with the commitment of Baby Gronk on Friday.

It might be the biggest win the Buckeyes have had since 2019. They certainly don’t have any other major wins to celebrate over the past three seasons because they have lost every game that matters to them.

Michigan football was on Baby Gronk’s top-30 list. But the 11-year old phenom or whatever you want to call him announced for the Buckeyes.

To be honest, it seems like a perfect culture fit. Even though he’s about seven years away from signing, at least the Buckeyes have another offseason “win” to celebrate.
