Michigan tight ends coach Grant Newsome talks to players at a timeout during the second half of U-M's 30-3 win on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at Michigan Stadium.

Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class sits inside the top 15 nationally across most industry rankings, and it might get another boost soon.

Steve Wiltfong of On3 released an expert prediction on Sunday that has Michigan landing 5-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola out of Blue Valley Northwest High School (Kansas).

At 6-foot-5 and almost 300 pounds, Babalola is ranked as the No. 17 overall player in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

“With what Michigan stands for on the field and in the classroom, the track record of success with offensive linemen and his comfort level around the school, I like the Wolverines’ chances,” Wiltfong said. “I’ve felt like Stanford has faded this fall and put my pick on the program I think has the best chance to land Babalola, who wants to commit soon.”

More on Andrew Babalola’s Recruitment

Including Michigan, Babalola’s top five consists of Stanford, Missouri, Auburn, and Oklahoma.

The On3 recruiting prediction machine gives the Wolverines a 63.7% chance to land Babalola. Meanwhile, Stanford has a 27.3% chance with Oklahoma, Missouri, and Auburn all possessing less than 3% odds.

Michigan is known for its elite offensive lines, winners of back-to-back Joe Moore Awards in 2021 and 2022, and it could be one recruit closer to ensuring the future of the trenches.
