Michigan defensive lineman Rayshaun Benny (26) tries to block a pass from Ohio State quarterback Will Howard (18) during the second half at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.

Michigan football defensive line coach Lou Espisito reportedly told MLive’s Ryan Zuke that DT Rayshaun Benny will return for his final season. Benny likely would’ve been picked in the later rounds of the NFL Draft in April, so he’s running it back with the Wolverines.

Benny posted career-highs in nearly every category in 2024. He posted 29 total tackles, including 15 solo, and added 1.5 sacks and two pass deflections. With Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant headed to the NFL, Benny has a chance to be the star of the defensive line next season.
