You can’t win every recruitment and that’s something that Michigan football fans will need to remember. The Wolverines did have an incredible June with eight commitments.

However, July might be off to a bit of a rocky start. Some announcements are coming Monday — hopefully — for Michigan football targets and one of them is four-star offensive lineman Hardy Watts.

Watts is 6-foot-6, 300 pounds out of Brookline, Massachusetts. Clemson was the leader for a while but the Wolverines were the crystal ball favorite for Watts not long ago for the No. 218 overall recruit in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

The four-star interior O-lineman felt like a perfect fit but the Wisconsin Badgers have seized the momentum ahead of Monday’s decision and have landed a slew of crystal balls plus an expert projection from Steve Wiltfong of On3.com.

Will Michigan get good news on Monday?

Andrew Olesh, the four-star tight end ranked No. 130 overall in the 2025 class, is still trending to Michigan. He is expected to announce on Monday. Michigan football and Alabama are the two contenders and if there is a delay that will be a win for Alabama.

A commitment announcement on Monday helps the Wolverines but there are no guarantees in recruiting. Just like Michigan could still turn things around with Watts. You just never know.

Marco Jones, a four-star EDGE ranked No. 157 overall in the 2025 class, has Michigan football among his top four along with Texas, Texas A&M, and USC. Texas A&M picked up a new crystal ball on Sunday night which could be a sign of where things are headed for one of the top EDGE prospects in the 2025 class.
