Updated Michigan football national title odds for the 2023-24 season

July is typically a slow month for college football fans. However, recently, the 2023-24 Michigan football national title odds were updated, and the Wolverines have managed to break into the top 5. According to Bet MGM, Michigan has the fourth-best odds to win this year’s national championship, which is something the program has not accomplished since the 1997 season.

These updated odds suggest that Michigan football has some of the best chances of winning the 2023-24 college football national title, coming in at number four, right behind Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia. The Maize and Blue have been on the brink of achieving this goal for the past few years — they made it to the College Football Playoff and won the Big Ten title in 2021 and 2022 but fell short in the semi-finals on both occasions.

This upcoming fall, it appears that Jim Harbaugh has assembled his strongest Michigan football roster since becoming head coach in late 2014. Given that Michigan has come close to reaching the title game twice this decade, this could be the year for the Maize and Blue to finally break through their glass ceiling.

Based on the updated odds from Bet MGM, Michigan football currently has +900 odds (fourth place), placing them just behind the Ohio State Buckeyes, who hold sole possession of third place with +700 odds.

As the new season approaches, it seems that the Michigan football program is finally gaining the recognition it deserves. Now, the time has come for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines to ascend the ladder and claim a national title for the first time in the modern era of college football.
