Going into the final official visit weekend before the dead period, Michigan football has momentum on the recruiting trail.

The Wolverines have landed four commitments over the past two weeks. Two of them were ranked in the top 100 overall of their respective classes. One was also a quarterback — Brady Hart.

But in 2025, Michigan football can be called the favorite for at least five recruits — Chase Taylor (3-star LB), Phillip Wright (3-star WR), Kayden Strayhorn (3-star OL), Maxwell Roy (4-star DL), and Hardy Watts (4-star OL).

That’s just being conservative. You could also put four-star wide receiver Taz Williams in that mix. He’s been projected to Michigan football but other schools have been pushing. This weekend will be interesting. The Wolverines have a 67-percent chance right now according to the On3 prediction machine.

Andrew Olesh, a four-star tight end ranked 130 overall in the 2025 class and fifth among tight ends according to the 247 Sports composite rankings is also visiting. There aren’t any crystal balls for him yet but maybe there will be after this weekend.

Four-star wideout (50th overall) Andrew Marsh is also visiting officially. He took an unofficial visit recently so this will be the second in a few weeks. He also canceled on Oklahoma to take the trip. He’s from Texas and it won’t be an easy pull but Marsh is someone to keep an eye on this weekend too.

Michigan football is Guarding against flips

This visit weekend is also important as the Wolverines guard against flips. Top-100 recruit Nate Marshall visited Auburn recently and said his decision was down to U-M and the Tigers.

Bobby Kanka, an in-state D-line commitment recently visited Michigan State. He said he liked the vibe but it’s hard to read how close he is to flipping.

This weekend will be important for both recruitments and if Michigan can hold its commitments and land the recruits listed above, the 2025 recruiting class will start looking formidable,
