Tomorrow, Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor will host Michigan football vs. East Carolina — the Wolverines’ 2023 season home opener. Here are four things that we predict will happen on Saturday.

4 predictions for Michigan football vs. East Carolina

4. First touchdown

The first touchdown of Michigan football vs. East Carolina will be scored by none other than senior running back and national superstar Blake Corum. Seems like a safe bet, but that’s why we’re picking him — he gets the ball a lot, especially around the goal line, and makes a ton of plays. Give us Corum for six to kick things off offensively.

3. Michigan football vs. East Carolina game MVP

We’re very high on JJ McCarthy, the Wolverines’ junior quarterback heading into tomorrow’s game. McCarthy has reportedly been making some insane progress as of late, and against one of the worst passing defenses (ECU) in the nation, JJ could have a massive Week 1 performance. Adding to the hype, McCarthy will be slinging it around under the guidance of QB coach Kirk Campbell, who is calling the plays in place of suspended OC Sherrone Moore.

2. Rising stars that will break out against East Carolina

Tomorrow, a few wide receivers — such as Tyler Morris and Peyton O’Leary — will be a bit banged up. In their place will be a freshman trio of wide receivers, including Semaj Morgan, Fredrick Moore, and Karmello English. If you ask us, one of these three is going to break out tomorrow afternoon.

1. Final score for the 2023 season opener

There is a lot going against Michigan football tomorrow, many of which are from within the program. From suspensions to injuries, the Wolverines are going to be adapting and battling through a lot; however, the talent, experience, and leadership should be enough to overcome and still win by a wide margin. Tomorrow, we have Michigan football taking down East Carolina, 42-17.
