A few weeks ago, ex-Wolverine quarterback and Big Ten Champion Cade McNamara, the Iowa Hawkeyes’ starting QB, was ruled out for the season with an ACL injury. Today, another former Michigan football star — tight end Erick All, who was a captain on the 2022 team — was ruled out for the year with an ACL injury of his own.
Former Michigan football star, Iowa Hawkeyes standout ruled OUT for the season
The two most notable transfer portal losses in Michigan football history are Cade McNamara and Erick All, who both transferred from the Wolverines’ Big Ten title-winning 2022 team to the Iowa Hawkeyes this year. Now, just halfway through the 2023 season, both ex-Wolverine captains have been ruled out for the remainder of the year.
During Iowa’s close win over the Wisconsin Badgers, Erick All took a brutal shot to the knee, causing everyone watching to wince in pain for All. Right off the bat, it was pretty clear that All was going to miss some serious time due to injury — most speculated that it would be a season-ending injury for the ex-Michigan football tight end.
They were right, seeing as All was just officially announced as being sidelined for the year, according to Sean Bock of 247 Sports. With Iowa in the home stretch of what could be an 11-1 season, losing All is a massive blow to an already stagnant Hawkeye offense.
