There are just 42 days until the 2023 Michigan football season kicks off, and the Wolverines embark on a potential national title-caliber campaign. For the Maize and Blue, there are a few key players returning to Ann Arbor with hopes of accomplishing significant goals, one of which is the program’s first national championship since 1997. According to Blake Corum, Michigan’s star running back, the season will be considered a failure if the Wolverines do not win it all.

Last year, Blake Corum set himself apart, rushing his way into Michigan football history despite only appearing in 11 of the Wolverines’ 14 games. He ran for over 1,460 yards and came close to breaking 20 rushing touchdowns as well. However, Corum missed Michigan’s wins over Ohio State and in the Big Ten title game due to a late-season injury against Illinois just before halftime.

With one final college season ahead of him, Blake Corum is determined to go all out this year and give it his best shot.

“If we don’t win the national championship, it’s not a successful season in my eyes,” Blake Corum said in a recent interview.

This is a monumental year for Blake Corum and Michigan football. Not only does the team have an exceptional coaching staff and a favorable schedule, but the roster is also arguably the strongest the Wolverines have seen in decades. With Corum, Edwards, McCarthy, and other key players leading the offense this year, fans can anticipate some thrilling performances as Michigan sets its sights on capturing the program’s 12th-ever national title.
