Tomorrow, it was expected that the University of Michigan and Big Ten Conference would face off in front of a judge in Washtenaw County, MI, in hopes of getting a TRO that would allow Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh to return from suspension this weekend against Maryland and next weekend against Ohio State.

That said, new reports today state that the school and conference have resolved everything outside of the courthouse, and Harbaugh will remain suspended through the remainder of the 2023 regular season.

Michigan Football Coach Will Remain Suspended

Last Friday afternoon, while Michigan football and its head coach, Jim Harbaugh, were en route to Happy Valley for a game against No. 10 Penn State, the Big Ten Conference suspended Harbaugh for the rest of the 2023 regular season.

Michigan’s request for a TRO against the Big Ten Conference was pushed to a hearing, which was set for tomorrow afternoon. That said, on Thursday afternoon, the school announced in a statement that everything had been settled outside of court, with Jim Harbaugh remaining suspended for the rest of the regular season — this includes this weekend’s game at Maryland and next weekend’s game against Ohio State.

In Harbaugh’s place as acting head coach will be offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, who has been head coach twice this season during both Jim Harbaugh suspensions. First, Moore led Michigan football to a 31-6 win over Bowling Green in Week 3; and last week, he led Michigan to a 24-15 win over Penn State in Happy Valley.
