The 2024 recruiting class is looking good so far for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines, who currently boast the No. 8 class in the nation. That said, elite Michigan football commit Jadyn Davis, who was a five-star quarterback when he first committed to the Maize and Blue, has since fallen to four-star status. Despite his drop in the rankings, his first few high school games of the 2023 season make us think that it’s time he makes the jump back to five-star status.

Elite Michigan football commit should still be a five-star

When Jadyn Davis first committed to Michigan football, he was one of the top prospects in America, boasting five-star status and more. That said, over the spring, outlets like 247 Sports, On3, and more started to drop Davis; now, he is a composite four-star. That said, Davis could climb back into contention for his fifth star throughout the 2023 season — in fact, it appears that he has already started to do so.

Jadyn Davis has been incredible so far

After throwing for over 450 yards in an impressive Week 1 victory, elite Michigan football commit Jadyn Davis has been on the rise in the national eye. So far, the future Wolverines has completed 62 of his 73 pass attempts (85% completion rate) for 966 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and no interceptions. In his most recent game, Davis went 19 for 26, totaling 264 yards and three touchdowns en route to an impressive 42-7 victory.

The crown jewel of Jim Harbaugh’s 2024 recruiting class?

While Jadyn Davis is not a five-star right now, there is a solid chance that he could be by National Signing Day at the beginning of next year. That said, for the time being, he remains a four-star — the 247 Sports rankings list Davis as the No. 76 player in the nation and the No. 7 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class. Conversely, On3 lists Davis as the No. 187 player in the nation and the No. 13 quarterback in his class.

The outlet that remains high on Davis is Rivals, who has him as the No. 35 player in the nation and the No. 5 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class.
