According to the latest re-evaluation of the 2025 recruiting class by On3, there has been a decline in the rankings for one of the recent additions to the Wolverines. Chris Ewald, a four-star Michigan football commit hailing from Miami, FL, has experienced a drop of over 15 spots compared to his previous ranking in the newest rankings release.
Michigan football commit Chris Ewald drops in newest On3 300 rankings
During the recent re-evaluation of the 2025 recruiting class conducted by On3, Chris Ewald, a four-star cornerback commit for Michigan football, experienced a downward movement in the rankings. Currently, he holds the No. 150 spot nationally, No. 13 among cornerbacks, and No. 88 among recruits from Florida. However, the Industry Rankings still recognize Ewald as a top 100 recruit, specifically ranking him as the No. 92 recruit in his class.
Prior to the re-evaluation, Ewald held the No. 134 position, indicating a drop of 16 spots, which now places him just within the top 150. It’s worth noting that On3’s ranking is the lowest Ewald has received, with 247 Sports ranking him at No. 90, the next lowest among the three major services.
EJ Holland, an on3 recruiting insider, believes that Ewald’s ranking is unjustifiably low and asserts that he should be considered among the top 100 nationally. As signing day approaches (yet remains in the distant future), the recruiting class will undergo multiple further evaluations, providing even more opportunities for adjustments and changes in rankings for this four-star Michigan football commit.
