Michigan football recruiting has been on fire recently, securing an impressive tally of 17 commitments in the ongoing 2024 recruiting class. Not only does this remarkable number of commitments highlight the Wolverines’ success, but it also positions their recruiting class as the current top-ranked in the nation.

This achievement places them ahead of strong contenders such as Ohio State, Georgia, and other programs that are also gaining momentum on the recruiting trail. Adding to their momentum, a significant development occurred today as a highly sought-after four-star linebacker from Florida revealed his top five choices, and it appears that the Wolverines are in an incredibly advantageous position in his recruitment process.

Michigan football recruiting trending heavily for major four-star Florida linebacker

Elias Rudolph, a four-star Florida linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class, dropped his final five today, and Michigan football recruiting made the cut. Alongside the Wolverines are four other solid programs: Ohio State, Cincinatti, Pitt, and Penn State.

Rudolph is a major target for Michigan football recruiting, and is one of the top linebackers in the nation according to the 247 Sports rankings. Right now, 247 lists Rudolph as a four-star Florida linebacker, and pins him as the No. 230 recruit nationally, the No. 20 EDGE/linebacker in the 2024 class, and the No. 36 recruit in the state of Florida. Rudolph may be a Florida prospect, but all of his interest lies in midwestern programs — the top-3 teams in the Big Ten all made the final cut.

According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football recruiting is currently in the best shape to land Rudolph, and frankly, it’s not all that close. Right now, the Wolverines have an 83.3% chance to pick up this commitment — the next closest team is the Ohio State Buckeyes, who boast an 8.1% chance.
