Last year, Michigan football star wide receiver Ronnie Bell played a pivotal role in the Wolverines’ offensive success, helping lead the way to a Big Ten title, College Football Playoff berth, and more. While Ronnie is no longer on the roster, his younger brother, Kendrick Bell, is currently a freshman and was a part of Jim Harbaugh’s 2023 signing class. For fans of the Wolverines, Bell is a player to watch out for this fall and in years to come.

The 2023 Michigan football roster was just recently updated to kick off fall camp, and with that, the Wolverines have recorded more information regarding Kendrick Bell. Kendrick, the younger brother of Michigan football star Ronnie Bell, is currently listed as a quarterback, though he could see a unique and diverse role with the Maize and Blue down the road.

“(Ronnie’s) brother Kendrick, great athlete who loves to compete,” Jim Harbaugh said of Kendrick Bell after national singing day this year. “And he’s told me he’s willing to play any position. So it could be quarterback, could be receiver, could be corner — he’s got the skillset to play all those. So, we’ll start him out at QB and we’ll roll from there. But extremely productive football player who’s very versatile.”

According to the Wolverines’ updated roster page, Kendrick Bell is wearing No. 5 this fall, standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing in at 180 pounds. As I mentioned earlier, for the time being, Ronnie Bell’s younger brother Kendrick is listed as a quarterback, though depending on what the team needs, it sounds like he could assume a number of roles with the Wolverines.

As a prospect in the class of 2023, Kendrick Bell was a three-star athlete out of Missouri — he ranked as the No. 61 athlete and No. 21 player in Missouri in the class of 2023.
