Yesterday, ESPN analyst Bruce Feldman appeared on the Rich Eisen Show and explained an interesting opinion. Per Feldman, he thinks that 9th-year Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh will win the national title this season and then immediately bolt to the NFL to avoid the NCAA and other factors happening in college football today.
Analyst thinks Jim Harbaugh will win national title with Michigan, leave for the NFL right after
There seems to be a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Michigan football and Jim Harbaugh, especially after NFL rumors popped up often over the past two seasons. Recently, Bruce Feldman, a senior college football writer for ESPN, explained his interesting take — he thinks that Jim Harbaugh will win a national title this year, and then immediately leave for the NFL.
“I think you also have a case, to be quite honest, where Jim Harbaugh has flirted with the NFL and last year, certainly with the Broncos. I think he wins a national title and rides off into the sunset, and some NFL team grabs him,” Bruce Feldman said on the The Rich Eisen Show. “And then, he’s just like, ‘See you, NCAA. I don’t care what you do.’”
Warde Manuel playing a role?
Bruce Feldman continued on Jim Harbaugh, stating that athletic director Warde Manuel may also be a deciding factor in Harbaugh’s wanting to go back to the NFL. As all Michigan football fans know, the AD and Jim Harbaugh have not always had the best relationship.
“I think, look, you also have a little bit of friction, maybe even more than a little, with Jim Harbaugh and Warde Manuel, the AD,” Feldman continued. “There’s a lot of stuff going on. I think you’ll see, especially as Jim Harbaugh and Michigan keep winning and keeps ascending this year, I think you’ll see Jim Harbaugh be very vocal and step on a lot of toes. It’ll be interesting to see how they keep the train on the tracks here.”
No one knows whether Harbaugh will leave for the NFL or stay with Michigan football after the coming season; all that is certain right now is that the Wolverines are locked in on winning the 2023-24 national title this fall.
