STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — This afternoon, despite being without Jim Harbaugh due to a Big Ten-issued suspension that will last the remainder of the 2023 regular season, the No. 3 Wolverines (10-0, 7-0 Big Ten) walked into Beaver Stadium and downed the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions (8-2, 5-2 Big Ten) in a dominant run-heavy performance. With Harbaugh out of the picture today, the interim Michigan football coach was Sherrone Moore (offensive coordinator), and he has the nation buzzing heading into Week 12.

No Jim Harbaugh? No problem for Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines

While the scoreboard shows that Michigan football won today’s top 10 road showdown in Happy Valley by nine points, the game itself did not feel that close. In fact, if it weren’t for a last-minute Penn State garbage time touchdown, the game would have been much more lopsided.

Still, Michigan claimed a 24-15 victory in Beaver Stadium this evening, dropping James Franklin’s record to 3-7 against the Wolverines all-time. Additionally, a second-straight 11-0 vs. 11-0 battle against Ohio State is looking more and more likely for the Wolverines, who are as angry as ever due to the Big Ten punishing their head coach on Friday.

Sherrone Moore speaks from the heart following 24-15 win over Penn State

After today’s game, which was wonderfully called and managed by acting head coach Sherrone Moore, the Wolverines’ interim coach delivered a powerful post-game speech with tears in his eyes.

“I want to thank the Lord,” Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore said following the 9-point win over Penn State. “I want to thank Coach (Jim) Harbaugh. F—ing love you, man. Love the s–t out of you, man. This is for you. For this university (of Michigan), the president (Santa Ono), our AD (Warde Manuel). We’ve got the best players, best university, best alumni in the country. Love (my) guys. These f—ing guys right here, these guys right here, man. These guys did it, man.”

Sherrone Moore then pulled running back Blake Corum into frame, who was bleeding out of his face but in great spirits following the win. Overall, today was a massive success for the Michigan football program despite being without Jim Harbaugh for the game.
