Playing in the Big Ten conference is not an easy task for the big boys up front on both sides of the football. According to offensive play-caller Sherrone Moore, who took to the podium on Friday for the first time since the start of Michigan football fall camp, some physical battles up front are turning into an “iron sharpens iron” situation for Kris Jenkins and other star players ahead of the coming season.

“Physical battles” starting during Michigan football fall camp

When it comes to the offensive and defensive lines of the Michigan football program, you may not find anyone better in the nation than Zak Zinter (offensive guard) and Kris Jenkins (defensive tackle). According to Sherrone Moore, who addressed the media on Friday, these two have been making one another better throughout fall camp with some intense and physical battles.

“Oh, some physical battles, they are some grown men, two guys are gonna be playing at the next level for a long time that are battling,” Michigan football OC Sherrone Moore explained. “And it’s give and take, it’s give and take with the defense as a whole. Offense, defense is give and take, and the individual battles, it’s just physical, it’s not combative. It’s just competitive.

With the 2023 Michigan football season right around the corner, this is exactly what the Wolverines need to see. If you want to be the best, you must beat the best, and facing off against players of this caliber every day in practice is excellent prep for what the coming year will bring for the Maize and Blue.

“It’s really awesome to see,” Sherrone Moore continued. “One guy will win one, and another one guy will win another one. But they’re always just battling each other, working. And so it’s awesome. Awesome to watch that competitiveness in the practice, and happy that on game day we’re not going against Kris (Jenkins).”
