Michigan football is one of the hottest teams in recruiting, and it just added another piece to its defense. Four-star safety Jordan Young committed to Clemson early in November, but he flipped to Michigan on Sunday. Young (Monroe High, Monroe, NC) is ranked as a top ten player in his state and a top 20 safety across the board.

Michigan Flips 4-Star Safety Jordan Young

Young said ($) he likes just about everything Michigan has to offer.

“What excites me most about Michigan is the opportunity to be part of such a legendary program and contribute to its legacy,” Young told On3’s Chad Simmons. “The coaches, the team culture, and the resources here are amazing, both athletically and academically.”

Young is the fourth defensive back headed to Ann Arbor in 2025. On Nov. 20, the Wolverines flipped four-star defensive back Elijah Dotson (Belleville High, Belleville, MI) from Pitt. Dotson, a high school teammate of incoming No. 1 recruit Bryce Underwood, could play safety as well.

Michigan also has a pair of four-star cornerbacks set to come in next season in Shamari Earls (Thomas Dale High, Chester, VA) and Jayden Sanders (Kilgore High, Kilgore, TX). The Wolverines have the third ranked recruiting class in the Big Ten for 2025 (per On3), sitting behind Oregon and Ohio State respectively.
