Michigan football has a ‘bully’ mindset heading into Nebraska

This year’s Michigan football team is full of bullies, at least for opposing teams.

Yesterday, following the Wolverines’ win over Rutgers, Michigan football running back Blake Corum was asked about his team’s ability to dominate a key aspect of the game: time of possession. According to Corum, who rushed for nearly 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win, the Wolverines “bully bullies,” and are embracing that mindset heading into Nebraska next weekend.

Michigan football taking a “bully” mindset into Nebraska

Right now, Michigan football sits at No. 2 nationally and should stay put following a 31-7 win over Rutgers in yesterday’s Big Ten opener. Next weekend, when Michigan hits the road to face Nebraska, the Wolverines are looking to embrace their “bully” mindset and “take over” the Cornhuskers’ stadium.

“We take pride — they come in thinking they’re the bully, and we bully bullies,” Michigan football star Blake Corum explained. “We take pride in that.

“Each and every week, we try to take it up a notch because it’s another week to watch film and critique ourselves,” he continued. “Like I was saying, we hold ourselves to such a high standard, there’s always gonna be room to improve. I don’t care how good we are. So going on the road — I love road games. You go into their stadium and take over. You have the opportunity to take over, and we’re gonna make sure we take advantage of that, and it’s gonna be a great week of work. And I can’t wait for next Saturday.”

Wolverines still perfect heading into road games after 24-point win over Rutgers

Michigan football heads into Week 5 as an 18-point favorite over Nebraska. Seeing as this will be the Wolverines’ first road game of the year, and that Michigan is 0-4 against the spread so far, I would be cautious before laying down money on the Wolverines to cover. That said, the team could care less about betting lines — for Blake Corum and his teammates, each weekend is about bullying other teams into submission and getting a win by any means necessary.

While Michigan football is yet to truly impress the nation with stellar play, the Wolverines are now 4-0 overall and have won every game by at least 24 points.
