Things are getting interesting on the recruiting trail as another Michigan football commitment will take an official visit to another program — Michigan State.

Nate Marshall took an official visit to Auburn last weekend and he said his decision was down to the Tigers and Wolverines despite being committed to Michigan.

Marshall is the top-ranked player in the 2025 class right now and is ranked in the top 50 overall of the 247 Sports composite rankings. Four-star defensive line commitment Bobby Kanka is the other candidate to flip as he’ll be visiting Michigan State this weekend according to Greg Smith of Rivals.

Kanka is ranked No. 383 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s the fourth-ranked player in the state of Michigan and is 6-foot-4, 255 pounds. He’s been committed since August but there have been rumblings about him and other programs. The official visit to MSU has been talked about but is now scheduled and shows a flip is serious.

Kanka is one of the lower-ranked commitments in the class but Michigan football has made a renewed push to keep him. Kanka visited campus this spring and it felt like he was still a priority for D-line coach Lou Esposito.

The in-state prospect was set to visit Tennessee on June 21 but Michigan football was able to get him to change his visit schedule and go to Ann Arbor instead. That seemed like a key moment and it still could be. MSU will get the next visit though. Michigan will get the last but it feels like a flip is very possible.
