Today, the highly-regarded four-star recruit, Daniel “DD” Holmes, hailing from Washington, D.C., revealed the six final contenders in his recruitment process, and Michigan football has successfully made the cut.

Standing tall at 6-foot-6 and weighing over 245 pounds, Holmes has captured the attention of several prominent programs from both the Big Ten and SEC conferences. His impressive physical attributes and skill set make him a prime target for many East Coast teams.

Michigan football named a finalist for four-star EDGE

Daniel Holmes is a highly sought-after recruit, ranked among the top 150 prospects in the ON3 300. Following his announcement this afternoon, only six schools are still in contention for his commitment as we approach the final stages. These schools include Michigan, Maryland, Florida State, Florida, South Carolina, and Rutgers. Based on the ON3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Florida State and Maryland are considered to have the highest chances of securing his commitment.

Holmes is currently ranked as the No. 135 recruit in the country, the No. 11 EDGE player, and the second-best recruit in Washington, D.C., according to ON3 rankings. In his announcement, he specifically mentioned that Michigan football stands out due to its exceptional combination of elite athletics and academics.

“Big time football and big time degree,” he told Hayes Fawcett.

Being a regional target, the Wolverines will undoubtedly be looking to get this major four-star target on campus as soon as they can in hopes of locking down an 18th commitment in the 2024 class.
