Yesterday, during Big Ten Media Day in Indianapolis, IN, Michigan football team leader Kris Jenkins had a chance to speak with the media about a number of topics; perhaps none more important than when he named a few breakout candidates for the Wolverines during the upcoming season — Rayshaun Benny, Kenneth Grant, and Mason Graham.

This year’s Wolverines are expected to be the team that finally breaks through the glass ceiling in Ann Arbor. Michigan football has not won a title since 1997, but right now, it appears that this is Jim Harbaugh’s best shot at winning it all as head coach of his alma mater.

If the Wolverines are to step up and win it all this year, a few newer faces will need to emerge and have breakout seasons. According to Kris Jenkins, who is a Michigan football team leader and a potential captain for the Wolverines in 2023, these three are primed for breakout seasons with the Maize and Blue — Rayshaun Benny, Kenneth Grant, and Mason Graham.

“I’m not gonna hype them up too much” Michigan football team leader and defensive line standout Kris Jenkins said yesterday. “But Rayshaun, Kenneth Grant, and Mason Graham, they’re absolute dogs — they’re animals.

“The biggest thing I love about ’em is that they continue to work they’re hungry. They love getting better. They love learning from their mistakes and becoming better defensive tackles. I think you’re gonna see a lot of improvement and they’re definitely making a lot of statements this year. They’re definitely really coming to their own and I’m really excited and proud of them with how far they come and they’re gonna continue to grow.”

Keep an eye on these three during the coming season, as there is a chance that all of them could become breakout stars for the Michigan football defense as the Wolverines chase a third-straight Big Ten Championship and much more.
