Michigan football has appeared in the Big Ten title game twice in a row now, winning it in a blowout fashion both times. Heading into the 2023 season, it appears that the Wolverines are poised to win the conference for the third year in a row, this time against a new opponent — Wisconsin football.

Michigan football projected in Big Ten title game against Wisconsin football

In 2021, Michigan football demolished the Iowa Hawkeyes 42-3 en route to the team’s first Big Ten title since 2004. Last fall, the Wolverines did more of the same, this time winning 43-22 against the Purdue Boilermakers.

A lot is on the line for the Maize and Blue right now — this is Jim Harbaugh’s best roster yet, and another Big Ten title, and perhaps even a national championship, appears to be on the table for the Wolverines. Currently, the media has picked Michigan football to make it to the Big Ten title game for the third year in a row, this time to face an unfamiliar opponent.

The last time Michigan played Wisconsin was in 2021 when the Wolverines handed the Badgers an impressive 38-17 beatdown in their own stadium. Since then, the two programs have not met; however, the Big Ten media expects these two to face off once again after the conclusion of the 2023 college football regular season.

According to these media picks, Michigan football and Wisconsin football will go head to head in a major Big Ten title game bout, with a three-peat on the line for the Wolverines and a title drought on the line for Wisconsin.

Only time will tell whether or not these media projections will come to fruition.
