Since entering the NCAA football transfer portal, former Texas A&M offensive tackle Chase Bisontis has become one of the most targeted players in the nation. Bisontis, a true freshman SEC standout for the Aggies in 2023, has already been contacted by Michigan football in hopes of recruiting him to Ann Arbor, and in a new prediction piece from Bleacher Report, Bisontis is projected to land with the Wolverines all said and done.
Bleacher Report predicts Michigan football to land SEC star from transfer portal
Per Hayes Fawcett of On3, Michigan football and Chase Bisontis have already been in contact. While a number of schools across all major conferences have their eyes on the ex-Texas A&M starter, it appears that the Wolverines could make a lot of sense as his next home. In fact, according to a new piece from Bleacher Report, Bisontis is predicted to move from SEC country to Big Ten country, picking Michigan as his next team by way of the transfer portal.
“LSU is trying really hard with Bisontis, and it’s still early in the process, but he is a kid from New Jersey who may want to get closer home,” writes Bleacher Report national college football columnist Brad Shepard. “With the Michigan Wolverines, Penn State Nittany Lions and Rutgers Scarlet Knights in pursuit, those are a handful teams that could grant him that opportunity. The Wolverines have put together the nation’s best offensive line consistently, and a roll-of-the-dice pick here is for Jim Harbaugh’s team.”
Chase Bisontis is a major target for the Wolverines
Per the 247 Sports rankings, Chase Bistontis is one of the top 10 players in the transfer portal right now — he is ranked No. 8 nationally and No. 1 among available offensive tackles in the 2024 portal cycle. This season, despite being a true freshman, Bisontis started all 12 games at tackle for Texas A&M, and his skill set/size are exactly what Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines are looking for right now.
As Bisontis continues to feel out his recruitment, expect Michigan football to make a push for this major transfer portal target ahead of the 2024 season.
