As Michigan football continues to prep for the 2024 Rose Bowl game against Alabama, which will send one of the two to the national championship game, the Wolverines’ coaching staff is hard at work in the transfer portal prepping for the 2024 season. Today, a new name popped up as being contacted by the Maize and Blue: ex-SEC (Texas A&M) offensive tackle Chase Bisontis, the No. 8 transfer in the nation and the No. 1 offensive tackle available in the portal right now, per 247’s portal rankings.

Next year, the Michigan football offensive line will be losing some key pieces; in fact, most of the Wolverines’ O-line will be leaving, meaning there is a good chance that Michigan will use the transfer portal quite a bit this year in preparation for the coming season.

True freshman Texas A&M offensive tackle Chase Bistontis is one of the top offensive line prospects available in the transfer portal right now, and according to a new report from Hayes Fawcett of On3, Bisontis has heard from the Michigan football coaching staff since hitting the portal this week.

Former Texas A&M offensive tackle Chase Bisontis is one of the best available

As a high school recruit, Bisontis was a four-star offensive lineman, ranking as the No. 72 player nationally, the No. 2 interior lineman, and the No. 1 player in the state of New Jersey. As a transfer, Bisontis is a four-star prospect, ranking as the No. 8 player in the transfer portal and the No. 1 offensive tackle currently available.
As a freshman in 2023, Bisontis started all 12 games — including eight SEC games — at tackle for Texas A&M, though his time as an Aggie appears to be all but over as he searches for a new home. That said, Michigan football could use some assistance at offensive tackle, and Chase Bisontiz could be a great transfer target to land ahead of the 2024 season.
