The 2024 recruiting class is starting to slow down for the Wolverines, who have the nation’s 4th-ranked class, boasting 25 hard commits and more thus far. That said, one major target that remains on the board for Michigan football recruiting is four-star Texas offensive tackle, Bennett Warren, who recently took his final official visit this summer with a trip to Rocky Top with the Tennessee Volunteers.
Michigan football recruiting battling SEC program for major four-star offensive tackle
Over the past few weeks, Michigan football recruiting has earned many insider predictions and crystal balls to land four-star offensive tackle Bennett Warren, a top-ranked player from the state of Texas in the 2024 recruiting class.
That said, recent reports indicate that the Maize and Blue may find themselves in a recruiting battle for the elite 2024 target, as the SEC’s Tennessee Volunteers are making a late push. For the time being, it appears that the Wolverines are still firmly in contention to add a 6th offensive line commit to their 2024 class, though seeing a top SEC program — one with many big-donor NIL collectives — involve itself down the stretch is often unsettling.
Following his official visit with Tennessee, Warren told ON3 that the Volunteers claimed to “need” him and had an impressive showing during his final official visit back in June. While Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines are still expected to lock down Warren down the stretch, keep an eye on this recruitment, especially since the offensive line class is already looking crowded right now.
According to the ON3 Industry Recruiting rankings, Bennett Warren is a four-star offensive tackle in the 2024 recruiting class, ranking as the No. 155 recruit in the nation, the No. 11 offensive tackle in the class, and the No. 29 player in the state of Texas.
