Blake Corum is a special talent out of the backfield for Michigan football. Over the past two seasons, his rushing abilities have led the Maize and Blue to two consecutive Big Ten titles and College Football Playoff appearances. In 2023, he looks to lead his program back to the promised land, culminating with another win over Ohio State, a conference championship, and a national title. It may be early, but the star Michigan football running back has been projected as a top 20 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Michigan football running back Blake Corum pinned as a top 20 NFL Draft pick ahead of the 2023 season

In just a few short months, with his knee injury rehabilitated and hopes as high as ever, Michigan football running back Blake Corum is ready to make another run at some major hardware. The Wolverines fell just short of winning the national title last fall, failing to overcome TCU in the CFP semifinal game, which was Michigan’s first and only loss of the 2022 season.

According to a new mock draft via Yardbarker, Michigan football running back Blake Corum is pinned as the No. 18 overall pick in the first round of next year’s NFL Draft, being projected as a top pick for the New Orleans Saints.

In this year’s NFL Draft, Mazi Smith was the only first-round pick for Michigan football, going late in the round to the Dallas Cowboys. Next year, there are a number of Wolverines who could be first-round picks, though Corum appears to stand out above the crowd.

During the 2022 Michigan football season, Blake Corum nearly broke 1,500 rushing yards in less than 11 games before being sidelined with an injury. He also finished with 18 rushing touchdowns and ended the year 7th in Heisman Trophy voting despite missing the Wolverines’ three most important games (at Ohio State, the Big Ten title game, and the College Football Playoff semifinal).

Michigan football has been an NFL Draft factory since Jim Harbaugh took over in late 2014; as the 2024 NFL Draft slowly approaches, this trend appears to be poised to continue.
