Last weekend, Gatlin Bair was in Ann Arbor for an official visit. Bair is a priority Michigan football recruiting target in the 2024 cycle, ranking as a top 40 prospect nationally and the No. 1 player in the state of Idaho. Following his visit, Bair raved about Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who has been impressive on the recruiting trail and beyond over the past few seasons.

Major Michigan football recruiting target raves about Jim Harbaugh

Gatlin Bair is regarded as the fastest recruit in the nation. He will be going on a two-year mission following graduation in 2024, so he will not enroll until the 2026 season. Nonetheless, Bair is a major Michigan football recruiting target and is an elite talent that many programs are pushing hard for. According to 247 Sports, Bair is the No. 36 player in the nation, the No. 9 wide receiver, and the No. 1 player in his state.

Following his weekend official visit with the Michigan Wolverines, Gatlin Bair earned insider predictions to choose Michigan football, further establishing the Maize and Blue as a frontrunner in his recruitment.

“The environment, the facilities, and everything else did meet my expectations, and then the people surpassed my expectations,” Gatlin Bair said, per Sports Illustrated. “I was really impressed with a lot of stuff … Jim Harbaugh is the best original coach in college football. He doesn’t hide or fake anything, he’s just him. And all the other coaches are just like that, very real people.”

Gatlin Bair trending for the Wolverines

Jim Harbaugh has assembled the nation’s No. 3 class thus far, boasting 24 hard commits and counting heading into the month of July. The Wolverines are trending towards becoming a national powerhouse, contending for Big Ten and national titles on a seemingly annual basis.

If Michigan football can manage to land Gatlin Bair in the 2024 cycle, the Wolverines will add a deadly weapon that should bolster the Maize and Blue offense for many seasons to come.
