The Michigan football stadium, affectionately known as ‘The Big House,’ is undergoing significant changes ahead of the upcoming season. In 2023, the Wolverines’ scoreboard and lights are being renovated, and according to one University of Michigan regent, the fan experience will be drastically different from 2022 to 2023.

Michigan Stadium changes will drastically change the fan experience for the better

Heading into the 2023 season, the Michigan football stadium is evolving to enhance the fan experience at ‘The Big House.’ This fall, the Maize and Blue appears poised to contend for a third consecutive Big Ten title and secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. During the Wolverines’ 7-game home schedule, opposing teams and passionate Michigan fans will be treated to new light shows, larger scoreboards that may enhance sound effects, and more.

“I can’t begin to tell you the enhancement of a scoreboard … how much that enhances the fan experience. It will be like night and day,” said Michigan regent Denise Ilitch, per The Michigan Insider. “To me, this is an investment in our fans and our fan experience, and it is a reinvestment in our infrastructure.”

This extensive multi-million-dollar project encompasses numerous renovations to Michigan’s athletic campus and is set to significantly enhance the Michigan Stadium experience in the years ahead. With the largest stadium in North America, Michigan football is now poised to offer the best fan experience in the nation with these new changes.

Fans will have the opportunity to witness these exciting Michigan football stadium renovations on September 2nd, as the Maize and Blue commence their 2023 season against ECU.
