Yesterday evening, Michigan football star Blake Corum and his Wolverines ran over Rutgers, 31-7. The game was Michigan’s Big Ten opener, but more importantly, it saw 9th-year head coach Jim Harbaugh return from suspension. After the victory, Corum and linebacker Junior Colson gave us insight into Harbaugh’s return and more.
Michigan football stars Blake Corum and Junior Colson break down Jim Harbaugh’s return
What stood out to Blake Corum when Michigan football got Jim Harbaugh back yesterday? The energy was through the roof.
“Just the enthusiasm,” Michigan football star Blake Corum said of Jim Harbaugh returning on Saturday. “You know how vibrant he can be, he just brings the juice. Wish you could have seen him in the locker room. It was great. And just hearing his speech before we hit the field today, it was great as well. So we love Coach Harbaugh, and it was great just having him back on the sideline with us.”
Additionally, Michigan defender Junior Colson backed up Corum’s claims about Jim Harbaugh and doubled down on his head coach’s energy in the locker room.
“He brings a lot of energy, he brings a lot of juice to the team, to the offense, defense, special teams,” Michigan football star linebacker Junior Colson added. “So having him out there, we get that little extra drive. He’s always out there whether, you know — good play, bad play, he’s dapping you up, so making sure you’re all good. So far,”
Jim Harbaugh is happy after victory against Rutgers
After a win, it sounds like a new Jim Harbaugh is unleashed. The long-time Michigan football coach goes from “Serious Jim” (in his own words) to “Cool Guy Jim” (in Corum’s words).
“He was just happy as heck,” Blake Corum said of Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh after the win against Rutgers. “As he (Harbaugh) says, ‘Cool Guy Jim.’ But, you know, it was just seeing him back — we all wanted this win really bad. As he says, ‘winning in the Big 10 is like two wins. One for us, and then since they lost, that’s one for us again.’ So it was just great seeing his energy in the locker room after the win. We’re just gonna have a good rest of the day and weekend.”
