Today, we heard from head coach Jim Harbaugh, transfer cornerback Josh Wallace, and Michigan football star wide receiver Roman Wilson during their media availability at Schembechler Hall. While Harbaugh and Wallace didn’t have much to say about the sign-stealing scandal and national rumors surrounding the program right now, the team’s senior superstar wideout gave his reaction. Heading into a crucial four-game stretch — including games at Penn State and against Ohio State — his mindset right now is impressive.

Michigan football star Roman Wilson says that, at this point in his career, he is used to a lot of outside noise engulfing the Wolverines. While this is a new kind of noise, and the chatter is likely the loudest that it has ever been in recent history, Wilson has a locked-in approach to the season right now.

“I feel fine. I mean, I feel like ever since I’ve been here at a young age, it’s kind of always been like this,” Roman Wilson said this afternoon.

“Like something has always been going on (when it comes to media attention),” he added. “So it doesn’t bother me. This team’s definitely focused on Purdue and Purdue only. This team is great. We don’t get distracted. Nothing like that — (Michigan is) just focus on ball.”

Roman Wilson added that, as a player in the midst of all of this, he and his teammates are locked in on the season. The rest will work itself out, and it isn’t the team’s job to handle that, so Michigan football is just being where its feet are and taking things one day at a time.

“As far as distractions and things like that, it doesn’t really bother us, at least the players,” Wilson said. “The players are good. We’re locked in. So none of this really matters.”
