Four-star EDGE Devon Baxter is yet to make the trip to Ann Arbor, but that has not stopped Michigan football from taking an overwhelming lead in his recruitment, according to the RPM (Recruiting Prediction Machine). Next month, on June 16th, this incredibly talented four-star target in the 2024 recruiting class will make his way to campus for an official visit, where the Wolverines will undoubtedly be looking to lock down another major commitment.

Who is four-star Devon Baxter?

Devon Baxter is a major recruiting target for Michigan football, and he could become a future Wolverine if Jim Harbaugh and his staff play their cards right next month. Baxter, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defensive end from Gwynn Park High School in Maryland, is highly sought after by several top programs. However, it appears that Michigan currently has a clear advantage.

According to the ON3 rankings, Baxter is a four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class. He is ranked as the No. 373 recruit in his class, the No. 26 defensive end in the 2024 recruiting class, and the No. 12 recruit in the state of Maryland. Recently, Michigan football has gained recognition as ‘EDGE U,’ and securing commitments from prominent four-star prospects like Baxter could greatly enhance the program’s reputation and future success.

Baxter leaning towards Michigan football, sets official visit with the Wolverines

According to a recent announcement, the highly regarded four-star recruit, Devon Baxter, is scheduled to visit Ann Arbor in the middle of next month. His official visit, marking his first time on campus, is set for June 16th, a significant date for Michigan football fans. Despite not having visited the campus yet, Baxter has been leaning towards the Maize and Blue. If Michigan can make the most of this opportunity, they might secure another commitment on the 16th.

Recently, Devon Baxter has garnered several new predictions from reputable ON3 insiders, indicating a strong likelihood of him choosing Michigan in the end. These predictions firmly position the Wolverines as frontrunners, with a 94.3% chance of securing a commitment from this talented four-star EDGE prospect.
