Michigan football was missing multiple starters on defense for most of the 2024 season, including safety Rod Moore. He tore his ACL and missed his senior season, and the captain announced Thursday on social media his plans to return for 2025. Moore can be expected to be a leader of the defense next season.
Michigan safety Rod Moore announces return for 2025
The Wolverines played their best defense in the latter half of 2024, and it culminated in a 19-13 win over Alabama in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Moore also dealt with injuries in 2023, but when he’s on the field, he’s productive. In his career Moore has tallied 142 tackles, seven passes defended, six interceptions and a half sack.
“The guy gets injured – the next day he’s the first guy in the front seat in every meeting,” Michigan defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator LaMar Morgan said leading into the 2024 season. “He hasn’t missed anything; he’s asking questions. He’s unbelievable. That’s the culture that we have here. That’s the type of player and person he is.”
Moore’s return just adds more anticipation to the 2025 season in Ann Arbor.
