Darrion Sutton, a top 100 recruit and a major target for the Michigan Wolverines basketball program in the class of 2024, is a four-star small forward out of Colorado. Recently, Sutton had the chance to speak about his recruitment thus far, including his great relationship with Maize and Blue head coach Juwan Howard and more.

Darrion Sutton, a four-star forward in the 2024 class, is looking to visit Ann Arbor soon. He explained all of that and more about Juwan Howard, the Michigan Wolverines, and his recruitment below.

Darrion Sutton is a major four-star target for the Michigan Wolverines basketball team in the 2024 recruiting class. So far, a number of top teams have been aggressively vying for this top-ranked four-star target; however, according to Sutton, it appears that Michigan has stood out quite a bit.

In a recent interview, Sutton broke down some parts of his recruitment and explained how well his relationship with Juwan Howard has developed thus far. Here is some of what he had to say about Howard and the Michigan Wolverines basketball program.

“My relationship is good with Juwan [Howard]. I really like him, he’s a great dude,” Sutton said, according to ON3. “They really like versatility, guys who can do multiple things on the floor, not just be stuck doing one thing. They tell me that wings like me fit perfectly with how they play.”

Additionally, while basketball recruiting appears to have taken a backseat to football recruiting in the eyes of most fans, it is a good sign to hear that the four-star forward is looking to make the trip out to Ann Arbor for a visit sometime soon.

“It’s been a lot of schools getting involved, really,” Sutton continued. “I’m setting up official visits right now with Creighton and Michigan.”

According to the ON3 rankings, Darrion Sutton is a four-star forward in the 2024 class, ranking as the No. 99 recruit nationally, the No. 27 small forward in his class, and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Colorado. It is hard to tell where Sutton’s head is at when it comes to his recruitment thus far; however, it’s clear that Juwan Howard has made a good early impression on this major four-star target, which may bode well for the Maize and Blue down the stretch.
