Last weekend, Deyvid Palepale visited Ann Arbor for an official visit with the Michigan Wolverines. Palepale, a highly sought-after defensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class, has been a top target for programs such as Michigan and Penn State for a while. Currently, the Maize and Blue are leading by a wide margin for his commitment and have recently been named among his top three remaining schools.
Michigan Wolverines trending to land major Pennsylvania defensive line target
The three major programs still in contention for Deyvid Palepale’s commitment are the Michigan Wolverines, Penn State Nittany Lions, and USC Trojans. Among these, the Maize and Blue are clearly the front-runners, leading the rest in crystal balls and the Recruiting Prediction Machine.
During his recent official visit to Ann Arbor, Deyvid Palepale had a positive recruiting experience with Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan football program. According to reports, things went well over the weekend, and it seems only a matter of time before he commits to the Wolverines.
The addition of a massive 6-foot-2, 300+ pound defensive lineman like Palepale would greatly benefit the Michigan football team, particularly against the tough competition in the Big Ten conference. His versatility to play anywhere along the defensive line, with a specialization as a nose tackle, makes him a valuable asset. Several of Michigan’s future opponents recognize the importance of stopping the run to win the conference title and are eager to secure the commitment of this three-star defensive lineman.
According to the ON3 rankings, Deyvid Palepale is a three-star interior defensive lineman in the 2024 class, ranked as the 50th D-line recruit and the 15th overall recruit in the state of Maryland. While three programs are still vying for his commitment, all indications point towards the Michigan Wolverines securing this significant recruitment.
