Tom Brady and CJ Stroud — two of the best NFL quarterbacks to ever be produced by the Ohio State and Michigan football programs. Brady, who recently retired, is hailed as the greatest player of all time, boasting a world record seven Super Bowl rings and more. Conversely, Stroud is in his rookie year in the league yet is already showing immense promise as an up-and-coming star for the Texans. This week, leading up to “The Game,” the ex-Wolverine and ex-Buckeye quarterbacks made a bet.

Michigan football legend Tom Brady makes bet with Ohio State legend CJ Stroud

CJ Stroud, the first quarterback to lose to Michigan football (twice) in a decade, has been balling out since reaching the NFL. Still, his 0-2 record against the Maize and Blue is something that all Wolverines fans can — and will — bring up whenever he is talked about.

Something else that Michigan fans love to bring up (and rightfully so)? Tom Brady — who was the Wolverines’ quarterback from 1998-2000 and led Lloyd Carr‘s Wolverines to some impressive seasons, winning a Big Ten title and a New Year’s Six bowl along the way.

A Super Bowl ring on the table?

With just nine days until “The Game,” which will likely pit two 11-0 teams that are ranked in the top 3 against one another for the second year in a row, Tom Brady and CJ Stroud made a bet. If Ohio State wins, Tom has to give up a coveted Super Bowl ring; however, if Michigan football wins, Stroud has to give up some youth so that Brady can return to the NFL.

“So, we’ve got a bet,” Tom Brady said on his podcast. “If Ohio State wins — you get one of my Super Bowl rings. And if Michigan beats Ohio State, then you got to give me all your youth, your agility, your time in the 40 (yard dash), and all your future years in the NFL. How about that?”

Stroud was quick to agree. “That’s a bet,” he said.

Nine days.

Obviously, this was all done in a joking manner, but we wouldn’t be too shocked if the former Michigan football legend had some bets going on this year’s Ohio State game. For right now, the Wolverines seem like a safe pick — especially given their back-to-back wins over the Buckeyes in 2021 and 2022.
