This afternoon, the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines (10-0, 7-0 Big Ten) are facing the Maryland Terrapins (6-4, 3-4) in College Park, MD — the team’s final test before facing No. 2 Ohio State next weekend. Right now, Michigan leads 23-10 in the third quarter following an uncharacteristic interception from JJ McCarthy. Additionally, two Michigan football stars have left today’s game due to injury: Mike Barrett (linebacker) and Roman Wilson (wide receiver).
Two Michigan football stars leave game against Maryland
Mike Barrett and Roman Wilson are both key players for this year’s 3rd-ranked Michigan football team. That said, throughout the first half of today’s game, both of these crucial veteran players were seen heading to the locker room due to injury.
Roman Wilson
In the first quarterback, top Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson took a shot to the head and was immediately put on concussion protocol. From the look of things, Wilson appears to be doing okay — he was seen on the sidelines in good spirits, so we assume it is just precautionary as the Ohio State game looms next weekend.
Mike Barrett
Mike Barrett appeared to have some kind of leg injury in the second quarter, and after a short stop in the medical tent, the sixth-year linebacker was seen heading to the locker room. It is unclear what the injury is — or if it’s serious — though we will have updates on that later.
*Update: Looks like Mike Barrett is good to return if necessary. We’ll see if Sherrone Moore and Jesse Minter decide to put him back in the game.
