Earlier this month, massive West Virginia University guard, Jose Perez, entered the portal, quickly becoming a priority target for the 2023 Michigan basketball transfer portal class. However, Perez is no longer in the running to come to Ann Arbor.

Michigan basketball transfer portal target will remain at WVU

Yesterday, a major update regarding Michigan basketball’s transfer portal situation came Juwan Howard’s way, but perhaps not in a positive manner. Last night, Jose Perez announced that he will be withdrawing from the transfer portal and will remain in Morgantown for the 2023-24 basketball season, which is closer than fans may think.

When Perez initially entered the portal earlier this month, he immediately became a major target for Michigan basketball, with the Wolverines seemingly in a tight race with Gonzaga for his talents. Perez, standing at a massive 6-foot-5, 220 pounds, has experienced his fair share of transfers so far. Unfortunately, he will not be finding a new home, which is likely disappointing news for many Michigan fans.

After missing the 2022-23 season, Jose Perez will finally get the chance to suit up as a Mountaineer this winter, marking a new era for WVU, especially since former head coach Bob Huggins was fired following a DUI charge a few weeks back. euro sex

On the other hand, Michigan basketball is looking to rebuild after a sub-par 2022-23 season, which concluded with an NIT exit and was followed by the loss of Hunter Dickinson and others via the transfer portal.
