Michigan football has been on a roll recently on the recruiting trail, landing three commitments in the past week. The Wolverines also hosted a five-star offensive tackle this past weekend in Andrew Babalola.

Like Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore, Babalola is from the state of Kansas. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound offensive tackle is ranked 20th overall according to the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2025 class.

Babalola would be a perfect fit for the Wolverines and one would think if they can land a five-star in the 2025 class, Babalola might be it.

Michigan football has work to do

Stanford is the favorite right now according to the On3 prediction machine. It gives the Cardinal a 74.8 percent chance of winning his commitment. Michigan football is sitting below five percent but the Wolverines helped themselves this weekend.

Babalola was on campus for an official visit. He clearly enjoyed himself and here’s what he told Steve Wiltfong of On3.com:

“What excites me about the (Michigan) program is the sustained success of the place and the vision for the future. They have great development all around,” he said.

Great offensive line play takes coaching and it’s not done on talent alone, even in college. Sherrone Moore has proven to be elite in that category. He believes in Grant Newsome and the rest of us should too.

Michigan is known for its O-line development so that should help U-M in its efforts to land Babalola and other elite prospects. Moore should be able to connect with Babalola too and sell him on the chance to play for a program that can give a similar degree to Stanford but also allow him to play for a college football elite.
