The Michigan Wolverines are about to play in their first-ever National Championship Game taking on the Washington Huskies next week. With the coming Michigan football national title game, which will kick off on Monday evening, the ESPN Football Power Index has put in its prediction, and it’s a bold one.
ESPN Football Power Index has strong stance on Michigan football national title bout
Michigan football finally started to flip the narrative about its success after beating Alabama earlier this week in a thrilling Rose Bowl game. On Monday, Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines could finally climb back to the top of college football; in fact, the ESPN Football Power Index thinks that they will.
Per ESPN’s latest rankings, the Wolverines are ranked No. 1 and Washington is ranked No. 12; on top of that, the FPI gives Michigan a 74.3 percent chance of beating the Huskies in Houston next week.
As of today, the betting spread is also favoring the Wolverines as Michigan sits at -4.5 with a moneyline of -190. Of course, Washington is also 14-0 and just won a CFP thriller like the Wolverines, so while Michigan football remains the favorite, most anticipate Monday’s national title matchup to be a great one.
Michigan football and the Washington Huskies will do battle at 7:30 PM (ET) on Monday, January 8th, in Houston, TX.
