Nick Saban and Alabama football are hard at work prepping for Michigan football in the Rose Bowl game on January 1, 2024. Earlier this fall, in the SEC title game, Bama All-American defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry left mid-game with an injury, though according to the Tide’s head coach, he is set to return against the Wolverines in the College Football Playoff semi-final.

Kool-Aid McKinstry will return against Michigan football in the Rose Bowl Game

Michigan football and Alabama football both have some injuries that they are working through right now, though it sounds like a pair of All-American defensive backs will both be playing. Earlier today, we heard from U-M defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, who says that Will Johnson will likely be back for the Rose Bowl; additionally, earlier this week, Nick Saban said much of the same about Alabama All-American Kool-Aid McKinstry.

Per Saban, Kool-Aid McKinstry is doing just fine following an injury against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game earlier this month.

Yes, he is (done with concussion protocol),” Saban said. “(Kool-Aid McKinstry) is doing fine.”

Alabama football and Michigan football will clash in the Rose Bowl for a spot in the national title game in just under two weeks, and right now, it appears that both squads will be just about 100 percent ready to go — from an injury standpoint — for their biggest game of the year thus far.
