A few days ago, Alabama football player Elijah Pritchett, a depth piece and special teams contributor, entered the transfer portal ahead of the College Football Playoff. Shortly after, the redshirt freshman lineman withdrew from the portal, electing to stay with Bama ahead of its bout against Michigan football in the Rose Bowl game on January 1. Yesterday, it was reported that Pritchett was arrested in Tuscaloosa, AL, with less than two weeks until his team squares off with the Wolverines.

In less than two weeks, Michigan football and Alabama football will clash in the Rose Bowl Game (CFP) for a spot in the national championship game. While Elijah Pritchett is not a starter for the Tide this season, he is a key depth piece and has seen action in all 13 games this fall at offensive line and/or special teams.

Elijah Pritchett, a 6-foot-6 312-pound offensive lineman out of Columbus, GA, was arrested this week for a Class C Misdemeanor in Tuscaloosa, AL. The charge was for “knowingly passing on an STD,” and he was soon released on $500 bail — he was also granted “youthful offender status” today, seeing as he is between the ages of 18 and 21. The news was first detailed by the Tuscaloosa Thread.

It is unclear whether or not this will impact Alabama’s roster against Michigan football; in other words, no one is sure if the Tide will suspend Elijah Pritchett over this or not. Still, seeing as Pritchett is a former five-star talent and has seen notable reps in all 13 games for Bama thus far, it’s worth noting that his status for the College Football Playoff Rose Bowl remains in question right now.
