PASADENA — Kool-Aid McKinstry, an All-American defensive back for Alabama football, is undoubtedly one of the best corners in the sport. On Saturday, the superstar defender met with the media for Bama’s Rose Bowl media day, where he delved into Michigan football QB JJ McCarthy and what makes him so special for the Wolverines.

Can JJ McCarthy lift his Wolverines past the Alabama Crimson Tide on Monday? Well, that remains to be seen, though Bama’s top players have all had plenty of praise for the Michigan football star leading up to the Rose Bowl Game.

What did Kool-Aid McKinstry say about JJ McCarthy?

On Saturday, this is some of what Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry had to say about Michigan football QB JJ McCarthy:

“I feel like (JJ) McCarthy is a good player,” he said. “I feel like he can make all the throws. I feel like he can hit the ball into all the windows, tight windows, open windows. I feel like he’s a good player.

“I feel like (Michigan’s) offense is sneaky. They do a good job at what they do,” he added. “I feel like the offensive coordinator (Sherrone Moore) understands them — I feel like it makes them a better team.”

The Rose Bowl awaits tomorrow

Tomorrow, we’ll see if JJ McCarthy and Michigan’s “sneaky” offense can get past No. 4 Alabama, winning the program’s first Rose Bowl since 1997 and advancing to the national championship game in Houston, TX.
