Blue-chip Recruit calls Michigan football ‘O-line factory’

You can probably file this under, duh, but Michigan football impressed some offensive line recruits who visited campus on Saturday.

Michigan football is in great hands with Sherrone Moore. He was an elite offensive line coach and offensive coordinator. He’s also going to be an elite head coach.

Jim Harbaugh recently talked about what makes a football team successful. He talked about how the offensive line doesn’t need others to be successful, but that every group depends on the offensive line.

To be fair, the O-line does get help with chip blocks and things like that from fullbacks and tight ends, but those guys are just an extension of that group on those plays. I bring this up because Moore and the Michigan football program hosted a bunch of offensive line recruits on Saturday in 2025 and 2026.

A big weekend of visitors for Michigan football

One of the 2025 recruits was top-100 interior lineman Douglas Utu. Jack Lange, a 6-foot-8, 275-pounder from Missouri also visited, along with four-star offensive tackle Marcus Garcia.

Out of Denton, Texas, Garcia is ranked No. 321 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Saturday was his first visit but he came away impressed.

The 6-foot-5, 270-pounder scheduled an official visit and said he wouldn’t be surprised if the Wolverines won another Joe Moore Award. Garcia even called Michigan an “O-line factory.”

Michigan cracked his top eight from earlier this week and I think it’s safe to say the Wolverines are trending up with Garcia. They are also moving in the right direction with 2026 in-state target Gregory Patrick.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder is ranked in the top 100 according to the On3 industry rankings and he’s sure to be one of the top in-state recruits in the 2026 class. On3 has him ranked No. 1. Patrick posted some pictures from his visit and said, “Greay day at Michigan!”

There’s a long way to with Patrick, an elite prospect in the 2026 class. But Michigan has created a pipeline to the NFL for the offensive line and is about to send six more in the 2024 NFL draft. So “O-line factory” checks out.
