Earlier this week, one of the top Michigan football recruiting targets in the 2025 class, Alex Graham, a four-star cornerback from the IMG Academy, released his top seven.

The Michigan Wolverines are considered the favorite, at least according to the On3 prediction machine, as well as the one crystal ball from 247 Sports. Yet, the expert projections for Graham came in 2022 or 2023 and with a new head coach, Michigan football can’t take anything for granted.

Michigan football in the top seven for major recruiting target

Graham plays for IMG now, but he’s from Detroit. He’s also visited Michigan football nine times according to On3, which is more than any other program. One of those visits was in February and getting Graham back to Ann Arbor this spring or summer should be a priority for the Wolverines.

Other contenders for Michigan football target Alex Graham

Colorado, Penn State, Utah, Oregon, Georgia, and Alabama are the other contenders for Graham who is ranked 159th overall in the 2025 class and 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. It’s always a battle when Alabama and Georgia are involved in the recruitment. You can say the same thing about Big Ten rival Oregon — something that still feels weird to say. Dan Lanning is a great recruiter but Sherrone Moore is too.

The Michigan football head coach needs to have a good spring, not only in terms of player retention but also on the recruiting trail. Graham is a name to watch and a visit in the coming months could be good news for the Wolverines.

Lamar Morgan, the new secondary coach, will be important and that will be something to watch with Graham who was projected to the Wolverines before all of the staff changes.
